Rodny: Malibu, CA
This project takes place in Rodny's beachfront home in sunny Malibu, California. Throughout this Spanish style home, DeMejico has furnished many areas from entry gates, to garage doors, to indoor entertainment spaces, to an outdoor courtyard. Our Spanish furniture additions of mesquite wood, along with hand pounded and forged iron, contributed to the authentic Spanish Colonial furniture home decor, architecture and feel that was already present in Rodny's home.
Beginning with the outside of the home, we have first installed a set of classic, wrought iron entry gates. These double door entry gates are made completely from hand-forged wrought iron, and feature four panel-like designs, surrounded by intricate Spanish scrollwork.
Along with these entry gates, is a set of custom garage doors. Beautifully arched, these solid mesquite doors are laid in multi-panel designs, and are accented with hand pounded iron clavos and hardware.
Based around the designs of the new entry gates and garage doors, we have also created a gorgeous and eye-catching custom front door for Rodny's home. Highlighting classic elements of Spanish design, the hand-forged wrought iron from the entry gates, and the arched and panel designs from the garage doors come together to provide a uniform look to the home.
The outdoor courtyard of Rodney's home is one of his favorite places to sit back, relax, and enjoy the company of his family and friends. By adding several Spanish outdoor furniture benches to this area, we were able to help Rodny do just that, while still keeping the motif of his Spanish style home. First, we have added two of our Banca Recortada outdoor benches, made from solid mesquite wood. These benches feature a seat laid in panels with a classically styled backrest.
Paired with these benches, we have added a simple version of our Espanola Coffee Table. Also made from solid mesquite wood, and complete with a hand forged wrought iron base, this table was a perfect fit for the outdoor space and style of Rodny's courtyard.
Lastly, we have added another small bench, made from an old door and reclaimed wood. Finished with a dark stain, and accented by hand pounded iron clavos, this small bench showcases classic Spanish Colonial furniture design.
Just as the outside of Rodny's home showcases classic Spanish style design, the inside of his home does just the same. To further enhance this authentic Spanish style, we have added a version of our Mesa de Centro Espanola coffee table to the living room area. Made from solid mesquite wood, this coffee table features a smooth top, paired with an intricately carved rope design and base.
Matching this coffee table, we have also added a dining table featuring the same style design, pairing it with the Hoja Carved Chairs. These classic chairs are beautifully carved from carefully selected mesquite wood and upholstered with a hand-stitched, soft vintage leather. The hand-tooled Flor-de-list design of the back and pounded golden accents enhance the classic beauty of its Spanish design.
The last additions to Rodny's home is a set of four barstools, based off of our Haciendita Barstool design. Made from solid mesquite wood, and upholstered with a soft vintage leather, these barstools continue to showcase traditional Spanish design, but with an added Art Nouveau touch.
