Beauty Behind Rustic Furniture Design

We believe the true beauty behind rustic furniture design derives from the types of materials used and how they are incorporated to create truly unique rustic furniture pieces.

Many rustic furniture manufactures have focused on mass producing rustic furniture with modern construction techniques using new “rustic looking” woods. Where we have focused on curating a unique selection of woods and materials that have aged naturally over 100s of years that exhibit true unique rustic characteristics.

These materials are recovered from old fallen structures that have weathered so much that they are no longer safe for standing. We will reclaim these materials from the property owners and in return for funds that they will use to rebuild a new modern structure for their lands.

Our furniture designs are individually hand-crafted using age old carpentry techniques with these aged materials. We reclaim original doors, structural beams, flooring and all the salvageable architectural woodwork. From our curation, we'll hand select each piece for it's intended purpose. Always with an emphasis in exhibiting the cracks, splinters and weathering detail for each rustic furniture piece.

Each piece is made from 100% Solid wood, and constructed using mortise and tenon joints with dowelling. Other rustic furniture manufactures will use plywood to construct hidden parts of furniture to save cost. On our designs we strive to bring originality to each piece with the aged materials they’re constructed from and construct them in such a way that allow these materials to age gracefully.
