Private Spanish Residence: Miami, Florida
When it comes to designing a Spanish-style home, few things add as much charm, personality, and functionality as the custom details. Whether you’re revamping or updating your space, custom Spanish doors and furniture allow you to maintain the traditional elements of Spanish designs while infusing your home with modern comfort and bespoke details.
In this private Spanish residence, DeMejico incorporated foyer pieces, a dining room set, living room and office furniture, bathroom vanities, and custom doors. While maintaining the warm, rustic elegance that defines the home's timeless architectural style, DeMejico focused on bringing together our authentic Spanish details with the soft linens and tapestries that modernize the feel of the home.
The Art of the Spanish-Style Front Door
In Spanish-style homes, the front door is often the first statement of artistry and character, setting the tone for the entire residence. Thick, solid wood doors adorned with ornate ironwork or intricate carvings offer an immediate glimpse into the timeless elegance that lies beyond. Custom doors, in particular, offer the unique opportunity to merge traditional Spanish craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities, creating a striking entryway that is both authentic and imaginative.
For this residence, DeMejico collaborated closely with the design team to create a pair of solid wood double doors, finished in a rich, dark stain that exudes warmth and sophistication. True to the iconic Spanish style, we infused the design with wrought-iron detailing, incorporating intricate, decorative panels that add texture and depth. The arched top—a hallmark of Spanish design—gives the doors a graceful, welcoming shape that immediately draws the eye.
Ultimately, a custom front door is more than just an entrance; it is a reflection of your home’s personality and a testament to the artistry that defines your living space. With every detail carefully considered, this door serves as the perfect introduction to a home filled with character, elegance, and timeless beauty.
The mix of traditional Spanish textures—wood, iron, and handwoven fabrics—creates a space that feels warm, inviting, and distinct to the homeowners.
Setting the stage for the rest of the interior,
The foyer in this Spanish-style home has a dramatic yet welcoming touch. Inspired by our "Diamante" design, an added custom round table made from dark, mesquite wood ties into the traditional Spanish influence, while incorporating modern design elements like sleek lines and geometric shapes for a fresh take.
A Spanish Feast for the Eyes
The dining room is where memories are made, and a custom dining set brings a sense of luxury and tradition to every meal, whether it’s a casual family dinner or a grand celebration.
- Quintessential to Spanish-style dining rooms and perfect for gatherings is of course the dining table. Creating an inviting atmosphere, the Armida Table is a long, solid wood dining table with intricate carvings for added character.
- Reflecting the same quality craftsmanship, with hand-carved details and a comfortable design, the Silla Chapital Chairs feature cushioned seats and tooled backrests upholstered in an earthy, natural leather.
- A custom buffet or sideboard can store dishes, linens, and other essentials while providing additional decorative space. With ornate detailing and plenty of surface area, the Concha Buffet Table and the Chapital Console Table tie the entire space together.
The Living Room is the Heart,
where comfort meets tradition and where gathering with friends and family feels effortless.
Blending practicality with timeless elegance, our Banca Guadalupe handcrafted wood benches serve as both seating and statement pieces. Made from rich, warm wood with intricate carved details, these benches echo the rustic charm of Spanish design. Placed under each of the large windows, they enhance the room’s inviting, relaxed vibe.
In between these benches, a custom-built bookcase is a standout feature, again offering both style and function. Designed to fit seamlessly into the space, this built-in bookcase stays true to Spanish-style aesthetics while providing storage for books, decorative pieces, ceramics, and family heirlooms. The open shelving allows for an airy feel, while closed cabinetry at the bottom conceals any clutter, making it a perfect blend of beauty and practicality.
Together, these additions bring a sense of warmth, character, and effortless sophistication, creating a cozy yet stylish space that’s perfect for both relaxing and entertaining.
